Tai Chi Instructor Training Program

Introduction

Starting in year 2006 the Centre is offering Instructor Training Courses and Assessment for experienced Tai Chi practitioners and teachers leading to certification from our Centre as a approved Tai Chi Instructor. Potential instructors can study to teach Tai Chi Foundation Exercises (warm up, silk reeling energy exercises and qigong breathe exercises), Tai Chi Eleven Form, Tai Chi 18 Short Form, Laojia (Old Frame) or 83 Form with Weapons and Push Hands. Following completion of a course the potential instructor becomes eligible to take an assessment for certificate and we will give the appropriated level of instructor upon the completion of the assessment.

Training Course Entry Requirement and Standard

These requirements are only a guide and the final decision will be made by Master Liming Yue. Relevant experience and demonstrate skill in other martial arts or being a instructor in other field such as Yoga, Laugar, Shaolin Kung Fu...etc will be taken into account for the consideration of acceptanc on the course..

Tai Chi Foundation Level Instructor

Potential instructors must achieve the level of Tai Chi Foundation Instructor and should be able to demonstrate at the end of the course:

Dates and Times

The courses will be running over a long weekend only, however the potential instructors will be expected to put in a significant practice time prior to the course, in general, at least one hour a day and six days each week. Potential instructors on the course will be encouraged to visit Master Liming's regular classes whenever possible to make improvement on your form and knowledge. Alternatively, learning from the books or dvds is also another way to improve your skill prior to the course.

Any students who do not pass the assessment successfully on the course can come for re-assessment in three month time or sign up for the next course at free of charge.

Course Contents - What you will be learning on the course

The course will teach you how to become a professional instructor along polish your form, postures and application skills. The theory and principal of Tai Chi will also be covered on the course as well. Potential instructors will be separated into groups according to the level of skill on the course. Group work and discuss will be carried out through the course, so please write down all questions you may have and you can discuss on the course.

Additionally, we will teach new instructors how to structure the classes and cope with varies situations during your future teaching. Appart from above, the individual instructor will be benefit from the following programme upon your level of skills.
